Eventually Former Fatty is a site that began as a personal blog, but then expanded to become a resource for people with similar goals. The site seeks to help people lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle one day at a time through building a new, sustainable lifestyle. No tricks, no pills, no belly wraps, no fads.

What makes someone an “Eventually Former Fatty.”

The title of Eventually Former Fatty is given to anyone in the process of dropping a bunch of weight. This site is about that transition. Being an Eventually Former Fatty means loving yourself while you work to change yourself. It means working daily to better yourself and forgiving yourself when you don’t meet your expectations. It means knowing you are worth fighting for.

Who is writing all this shit?

This site is written by Ashley Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD. Before I explain who I am, I feel the need to let you know what I am not. I am not a doctor. I am not a nutritionist. I am not a personal trainer. I am not a fitness guru. I am not a health expert.

Here’s what I am: I am someone who has struggled with weight my entire life. I reached a weight of 340 and said “enough.” Sometime in the future, I will reach a goal of weighing 200 pounds less than my highest weight. At the time of writing this, I am over halfway to that goal. In short, I am an Eventually Former Fatty.

I work every day to be better than the last. I experience a lot of success. Sometimes I fail. But I always work to move forward.

And I am someone who wants to help you do the same.

So, how did you do it? How did you lose the weight?

People seem disappointed when I don’t answer this question with the name of a fad diet or a miracle pill. We all want the magic wand that we wave to make our life what we want.

In my travels and missteps, I have discovered that you have to create your own magic and miracles.

I do owe my successes in weight loss to a few wonderful things, which I will share (of course).

Step one to weight loss is to get your diet under control. If you eat fewer calories than your body burns, you will lose weight. MyFitnessPal is a platform that allows you to track your calories and gives you calorie goals that are in line with your weight loss goals. Their food database is absolutely unmatched.

It is FREE and available on all major platforms: Android, iOS, and website. Hands down, the most helpful tool ever.

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

Weight loss is hard work… but it is much easier once it becomes habit. This book explores how to build positive habits and get rid of negative habits. It is a great read for anyone looking to better themselves in any way, not just weight loss.

So to summarize: my weight loss was not the result of any special trick. I ate fewer calories. I moved more. I built a lifestyle that made healthy options the easy options.
